Welcome to our inaugural post on our new home! 🎉 We have moved away from our previous server and from WordPress. This is the start of a whole new thing.

Since 2017, we have been using WordPress to host our content, and while the platform is great, I don’t use a tenth of the features it offers, and taking care of a database, a php server, a web server, and keeping an eye out for vulnerabilities that can be exploited is something that takes time and effort.

For all you WordPress fans out there, I’m not saying WP is inheritly insecure, bad or anything like that. It’s just way too much for what I need.

Now I’m using Hugo, a static site generator that is fast, easy to use, and has a lot of themes and plugins. (This is not a sponsored post, I just like the tool). I don’t have an online admin portal anymore, or a database, nor do I need to worry aboutr the PHP version I’m using. It’s also way cheaper to host because my site fits in the basic (free) tier of Netlify.

I did my best to keep all URLs the same, but if you find a broken link, please let me know.

One last note: If there’s one thing I’m not good at, it’s design. I tried my best to make the site look nice and functional, and I hope I succeeded. 😅
